Facts About Timeshares
Learn everything you need to know about your Timeshare at Kilconquhar Castle Estate.
What is Timeshare?
The purpose of timeshare is to gain all the benefits of owning your own holiday home but only for the weeks that you are actually going to use. You are effectively purchasing the same unit in the same week every year for which you then have exclusive use. Timeshare ownership removes all the issues that arise with owning a holiday home such as the maintenance and yearly costs that you can incur no matter how much or little you use your holiday home for example television licence, rates etc. By purchasing a timeshare you are sharing these costs with 49 other owners with the added benefit of exclusive all year round use of the leisure facilities.
Timeshare at Kilconquhar Castle
The East Neuk of Fife is an exceptionally scenic area with beautiful coastal towns, great golfing on many courses, wonderful historic sites and beaches to enjoy a stroll along or to take the children to play. Local country parks, museums, art galleries, boat trips and many more activities are available practically on the door step to ensure that people of all ages can enjoy a week away in Fife. Kilconquhar is situated only 12 miles from St Andrews and 3 miles from Elie. The purchase of a holiday home in either of these towns would be expensive even prior to the upkeep cost of owning a second home.
Pricing and Payment Options
The purchase of a timeshare week at Kilconquhar costs you as little as £2350.00 in a winter week to £16,000.00 in a peak season summer. This is a fraction of the cost of purchasing a second fully furnished holiday home in this area. We currently offer two ways in which you can purchase your timeshare week.
Payment for your week can be made outright or you can spread the cost of your purchase over a year by paying by direct debit. There is no additional charge or interest for paying by direct debit.
Management Fees
Management fees are billed annually. The request for payment is sent out in May of each year. Again we offer various ways in which to pay your management fees. You can either pay in full by credit/debit card, cheque or direct to our account. We offer a direct debit plan which collects the management fees in four instalments running consecutively from July to October or you can pay by monthly instalments in advance by setting up a standing order. Again there are no extra charges for choosing any of these options.
The management fee pays for the upkeep and maintenance of your unit, the all year round use of the Leisure Facilities, and for the costs incurred of running the resort by the management company i.e. wage costs, television licences, insurance etc. The level of management fees is agreed each year at the owners committee to ensure a fair charge . Other than the management fee there is no other cost for your timeshare throughout the year. When you use your week there is a charge for electricity of 13p a unit which is payable on departure and for telephone calls should you choose to use the units telephone.
The management company have worked exceptionally hard over the past three years to ensure that the management fee charge has not risen whilst maintaining a high level of improvements at no extra cost to our owners.
